About the position

Lincoln Electric is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Plant Engineering team at their Euclid, OH World Headquarters. This role is crucial for driving the success of capital projects and providing essential engineering support to the Consumable and Machine divisions. The Mechanical Engineer will focus on mechanical aspects of projects, including facilities preparation, equipment design, and installation, with a strong emphasis on improving health and safety, operational efficiency, product quality, and cost management.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in a team-oriented, hands-on environment on capital and strategic projects.
  • Take full responsibility for the mechanical aspects of various projects, including facilities preparation, equipment design, and installation.
  • Drive continuous improvement in equipment reliability, operational and maintenance costs, safety, and ergonomics.
  • Support safety and environmental initiatives in compliance with ISO 14001 standards and EHS initiatives.
  • Interface with engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, R&D, QA, and Supply Management teams to ensure project accuracy and timely execution.
  • Provide ongoing technical support to Production and Maintenance departments, troubleshooting issues and recommending solutions.
  • Work closely with or manage external engineering and construction personnel to ensure project completion on time and within scope.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and industry regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Level II Engineer: minimum of 3 years of professional engineering experience in an industrial setting.
  • Level III Engineer: minimum of 5 years of professional engineering experience in an industrial setting.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle a variety of assignments, including occasional travel and off-shift work.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment, self-motivation, and a proactive, safety-conscious attitude.
  • Comfort and capability in performing hands-on work on the shop floor with production employees.
  • Ability to lead small to medium-sized projects while supporting day-to-day operations.
  • Experience with Solid Edge or similar 3D CAD modeling software is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, EPA, and OSHA standards is a plus.
