About the position

Moseley Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the space systems division of a long-standing partner in the Aerospace and Defense sector. This contract position is based in Littleton, Colorado, and offers a competitive hourly rate of $135.00. The role involves working on innovative projects that include the development of satellites and spacecraft designed for both government and commercial clients. These systems play a crucial role in various applications, such as providing early warnings for severe weather, facilitating communication for troops in the field, and delivering GPS services to millions of users worldwide. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for electronic packaging development, which encompasses mechanical design, stress and thermal analysis, as well as the creation and release of mechanical and electronic CAD drawings. You will also participate in design reviews, providing valuable technical feedback to ensure the success of the projects. This position requires a strong background in the full product life cycle of mechanical aspects related to electronics design, including considerations for circuit card and printed circuit board design. Additionally, experience with radio frequency (RF) systems, electronic steerable arrays (ESAs), and antenna elements is highly desirable. You will need to demonstrate knowledge in defining, interpreting, and implementing design requirements, as well as coordinating and executing hardware designs in compliance with space engineering process specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Electronic packaging development including mechanical design, stress and thermal analysis, and electronics and mechanical CAD (drawing development and release).
  • Attend Design Reviews and provide technical feedback.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree combined with 11+ years of relevant work experience; or Master's Degree combined with 9+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Full product life cycle for mechanical aspects of electronics design, including circuit card/printed circuit board design considerations.
  • Desired design experience and background involving radio frequency (RF), electronic steerable arrays (ESAs), and/or antenna elements.
  • Knowledge of the definition, interpretation, and implementation of design requirements, coordination and execution of hardware designs, development and integration of hardware for both custom and procured electronic assemblies in accordance with all Space engineering process specifications.
