About the position

Teledyne RISI, Inc is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Tracy, California. This position is integral to our mission of providing enabling technologies for various industrial growth markets, including aerospace and defense, factory automation, and environmental monitoring. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will contribute to the team effort by assisting in various tasks, including entering Bills of Materials (BOMs) and creating production routings in our MRP system. You will support production by providing technical knowledge to ensure the successful completion of products in compliance with engineering drawings and quality standards. In this role, you will be responsible for writing connector assembly instructions based on vendor information and input from personnel on the production floor. You will also produce complete design packages, which include 3D files or 2D drawings, and develop, review, and revise technical documents to support manufacturing processes. Troubleshooting will be a key part of your responsibilities, as you will gather data and consult with other engineers to resolve issues that arise on the production floor. Additionally, you will support the production team in resolving technical issues and recommend and implement process improvements to enhance manufacturing quality and reduce costs. The Mechanical Engineer will also be tasked with developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods. Responsibilities

  • Contributing to team effort by assisting as needed.
  • Entering BOMs and creating production routings in our MRP system.
  • Supporting production and providing technical knowledge for the successful completion of products in compliance with Engineering drawings and quality standards.
  • Writing connector assembly instructions from vendor information and input from personnel on the floor.
  • Producing complete design packages including 3D files or 2D drawings, including developing/reviewing/revising technical documents in support of manufacturing processes.
  • Troubleshooting and gathering data, consulting with other engineers to solve issues that arise on the production floor.
  • Supporting production team to resolve technical issues.
  • Recommending and implementing process improvements that will enhance manufacturing, quality and reduce cost of parts and assemblies.
  • Developing, evaluating and improving manufacturing methods.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BSME required, 0-2 years' work experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to find creative and innovative solutions.
  • Proficient with AUTOCAD.
  • Experimentation skills including design validation, optimization, and design of experiments a plus.
  • Excellent communications and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and be flexible within a dynamic environment.
  • Committed to personal excellence and high corporate ethical standards.
  • Must be a US Person.
