About the position
In this role, the individual will review and check designs, guiding the designers effectively. The candidate will need to hit the ground running. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing both new and existing products and enhancements as assigned by the Engineering Manager. Your duties will include product engineering, custom project execution, and project management activities, ensuring they are carried through to full manufacturing release, utilizing the services of one or more staff engineers/designers. This position requires a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and the ability to apply them in a practical setting. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that projects meet specifications and are completed on time. Additionally, you will be expected to provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Responsibilities
- Review and check designs to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.
- Guide designers effectively throughout the design process.
- Oversee new and existing products and enhancements as assigned by the Engineering Manager.
- Execute custom projects and manage project activities from inception to full manufacturing release.
- Utilize the services of one or more staff engineers/designers to achieve project goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project specifications are met.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and designers.
Requirements
- Strong background in Mechanical Engineering principles.
- Proficiency in Solidworks for product design and engineering.
- Experience in project management and execution of engineering projects.
- Ability to conduct design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
