About the position

As a Mechanical Engineer with the Department of Defense, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and reliability of mechanical systems used in naval operations. Your primary responsibilities will include reviewing and approving contractor engineering drawing sets, which encompass various aspects such as configuration, construction, operating pressures and temperatures, materials, finishes, and tolerances. You will also be tasked with preparing, evaluating, and providing specifications that are essential for the fabrication and assembly of spare and repair parts. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of engineering principles to ensure that all components meet the necessary standards and specifications. In addition to reviewing engineering drawings, you will prescribe test methods and procedures to ensure quality, including specifying the test equipment required for performance and life cycle testing.
