About the position

Griner Engineering, Inc. (GEI) is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer EIT to join our team in Sevierville, TN. As a Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection Consulting Engineering firm with over 55 years of experience, we pride ourselves on our integrity, reliability, and quality in providing engineering design services across various sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, and municipal facilities. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of design experience in the MEP Consulting Engineering industry, demonstrating a strong understanding of building codes and local regulations. In this role, you will be responsible for producing a full set of mechanical drawings based on client specifications and design criteria. You will manage design projects from proposal acceptance through to completion, ensuring that all work is completed on schedule and within budget. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with an interdisciplinary design team that includes engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors. Your ability to respond to reviewer comments, review submittals, and handle Requests for Information (RFIs) will be crucial to the success of your projects. Site visits will be a regular part of your responsibilities, allowing you to examine and verify existing conditions, conduct mechanical inspections, and perform mechanical analyses. Proficiency in Revit is essential, and while proficiency in AutoCAD is assumed, familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite is also expected. Responsibilities

  • Produce a full set of mechanical drawings based on client design criteria and specifications.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of design experience in the MEP Consulting Engineering industry.
  • Working knowledge of building codes and local codes.
  • Proven ability to produce mechanical drawings based on client specifications.
  • Experience managing design projects from proposal acceptance to completion.
  • Ability to collaborate with a diverse design team.
  • Experience responding to reviewer comments and handling RFIs.
  • Proficiency in Revit and familiarity with AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
