About the position

The Mechanical Engineer position at ITW GSE involves research, design, and sustainment support for mechanical and electro-mechanical products and systems, particularly in the aviation industry. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop products that meet project timelines and performance criteria, focusing on systems such as controls, engines, and power generation. The engineer will also be responsible for evaluating documentation, creating detailed drawings, and analyzing system characteristics.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, and sustainment support of mechanical and electro-mechanical products and systems.
• Evaluate documentation such as industry specifications and design proposals to determine feasibility and improvements.
• Collaborate with quality, production, and design teams to develop products within project timelines.
• Create detail drawings and parts lists for mechanical products and systems.
• Review and update test procedures, test reports, and analysis papers.
• Analyze systems for structural, thermal, and dynamic characteristics.

Requirements

• BSME degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Experience in manufacturing settings and with high vibration, motor-driven applications is a plus.
• Proficiency in Structural and Thermal FEA, including hand calculations.
• Understanding of fabrication processes such as machining, welding, and composites.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
• Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD, including drafting practices per ASME Y14.100.
