About the position

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be part of the new product development group, focusing on creating advanced mechanical designs for both standard and custom plastic assembly products. This role emphasizes collaboration with experienced engineers to meet specifications, schedules, and cost requirements while ensuring high-quality design and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced mechanical designs for standard and custom plastic assembly products.
• Spend a minimum of 75% of your time on development work, with the remaining time dedicated to engineering support duties.
• Evaluate and select components and materials used in products to improve reliability, robustness, and quality of design.
• Create and maintain documentation necessary for product development and manufacturing that conforms to industry standards.
• Run lab experiments and testing, document and analyze results.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
• Hands-on 3D CAD design skills with 3-8 years of experience.
• Experience in designing industrial equipment.
• Proficiency in Inventor or Creo.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in custom automation is a plus.
• Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is a plus.
• Motion systems control knowledge is a plus.
• A hands-on approach to problem-solving and a passion for working on mechanical projects in your free time.
