About the position

The Mechanical Engineer position at Lincoln Electric involves the conceptual and detailed engineering of custom industrial automation equipment, including robotic work cells and tooling. The role requires proficiency in 3-D CAD software and encompasses all mechanical engineering tasks from design to service. The engineer will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with various teams and customers to meet project timelines and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Conceptual and detailed engineering of custom industrial automation equipment.
• Complete mechanical engineering items needed to design, build, ship and service products.
• Work on one complex design at a time, performing all mechanical engineering tasks from beginning to completion.
• Complete basic engineering calculations for static and dynamic systems.
• Interact with related personnel during fabrication and demonstration of equipment.
• Frequent interaction with customers during development projects.
• Provide mechanical layouts and details to production.
• Take initiative to meet challenging project timelines and budgets.
• Act as Engineering Lead, Designer, and Detailer for small-scale projects.
• Ensure product conformance with quotes and customer purchase orders.
• Assist in compiling documentation and provide technical assistance to various departments.
• Work collaboratively in a team environment with machine builders, project management, and engineering teams.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of relevant design experience in industrial automation or a degree in mechanical engineering or a similar field.
• Proven design experience with Industrial Automation, with a minimum of one year preferred.
• Computer proficiency including MS Office and project management software.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of safety standards (OSHA, SDS) and ANSI (RIA) standards.
