About the position

As a Mechanical Engineer at In-finite Search Solutions, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing mechanical designs that meet project specifications. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing drawing packages for manufacture and assembly, ensuring that all project documentation is complete and accurate while adhering to proper drafting standards. You will utilize AutoCAD and various other software packages to create designs for equipment, machines, mechanisms, or tooling that align with project requirements. In this position, you will work closely with Project Managers, Manufacturing Engineers, and the manufacturing team to develop systems and complete projects efficiently. You will also be responsible for maintaining the product bill of materials and evaluating quotations, specifications, and documentation to discern functional requirements. Your ability to collaborate effectively in team environments while managing individual duties will be essential to your success. The role requires a motivated individual who is technically creative and organized, capable of multitasking and adapting to task interruptions. You will be expected to share design methodologies, productivity tools, and best practices with department staff to enhance knowledge and experience within the team. Your commitment to integrity, ethical practices, and economical solutions will be vital in driving productivity and profitability within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop work instructions for production employees.
  • Prepare drawing packages for manufacture and assembly, ensuring complete and accurate project documentation that meets all requirements and proper drafting standards.
  • Use AutoCAD and various other software packages to develop equipment, machine, mechanism, or tooling designs that meet project specifications.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Manufacturing Engineers, and the manufacturing team to develop systems and complete projects.
  • Maintain product bill of materials.
  • Evaluate quotations, specifications, and documentation to discern functional requirements and define tasks for mechanical designs.
  • Share design methodologies, productivity tools, standards, processes, and legacy information with department staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with competency in computer and Microsoft Office products.
  • Exceptional skills to share the pros & cons of various iterations and concepts of new design flow with management and control engineers.
  • Hydraulic/Pneumatic and electrical controls experience is a plus.
  • Experience with fabrication terminology.
  • Motivated to initiate and implement tasks, strategies, and techniques in a goal-oriented manner to increase productivity and profitability.
  • Technically creative with an understanding of mechanical functions to provide solutions in a robust and economical manner.
  • Organized and flexible in work functions allowing for dedicated multitasking and task-interrupted duties.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with hydraulic/pneumatic and electrical controls.
  • Familiarity with fabrication terminology.
