About the position

The Mechanical Engineer position at MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions involves leading the development of new engineered products and associated manufacturing processes. The role focuses on innovation in solder technologies and requires collaboration across various departments to ensure successful product development and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Develop solder and Argomax preforms and the processes to manufacture them.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, R&D, and Marketing, as well as outside contractors in the development of new engineered products.
• Lead efforts in the development of innovative technologies and new processes to produce new products/preforms.
• Coordinate new product development, from product concepts to packaging of new preforms products.
• Manage projects to improve or develop processes to make preforms from different alloys, shapes, coatings, and processes.
• Work with processes such as Argomax coating, Edgegate flux coating, extrusion, rolling, slitting, stamping, de-burring, packaging, laser cutting, powder forming, and sintering, managing all tool room activities and automation of newly developed processes.
• Develop and/or select equipment for processing and packaging preforms, such as pick and place systems, spooling, and winding.

Requirements

• Strong background in product development, engineering, and project management.
• Experience in the electronics assembly industry, particularly with solder technologies and materials.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with automation in manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with various manufacturing techniques such as extrusion and laser cutting.
