About the position

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team! In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the life cycle of our projects while ensuring that all tasks are completed on time, within budget, and to Blair, Church & Flynn's standard of excellence. This position offers a great opportunity for candidates who love being outdoors and working on exciting projects in unique locations. To be considered for this position, candidates should possess a Professional Engineer license, a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, and a minimum of five years of relevant work experience in preparing construction documents. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential for success in this role. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will oversee and manage projects from conception to completion, analyze plans, survey reports, maps, and other data related to project design. You will also consider regulations, site selection, and other factors relevant to a project, prepare cost estimates to determine a project's economic feasibility, and provide technical guidance and support to project teams. Additionally, you will review plans and specifications to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations, coordinate with other professionals such as architects, contractors, and surveyors to ensure that projects are completed on time, and participate in project meetings to provide progress reports to clients and stakeholders. Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of engineering practices and standards is also a key responsibility.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • Must have a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in civil engineering projects
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in engineering design software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
