About the position

The Mechanical Engineer at Kent Plc plays a crucial role in the execution of commissioning and construction deliverables for energy sector projects. Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, this position requires collaboration across project teams to ensure adherence to project and contractual requirements. The engineer will leverage their extensive knowledge of project execution to mentor and guide construction and commissioning teams, ensuring successful project completion.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure execution of commissioning and construction deliverables meet project and contractual requirements.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret engineering documents, technical procedures, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with project personnel on construction and commissioning scope execution.
  • Maintain communication with Engineering, Estimating, Planning, and Scheduling departments to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
  • Evaluate RFI submittals and recommend proposed solutions with proper approvals.
  • Assist in the coordination of construction and CSU scope of work and assess potential impacts to the project.
  • Supervise the distribution of drawings and maintain revision control.
  • Develop Field Installation Work Packages, Test Packages, and Turnover/Handover Packages.
  • Lead system turnover meetings with discipline stakeholders and clients.
  • Perform additional assignments as directed by the project manager.

Requirements

  • College/university degree in a major engineering discipline.
  • 10+ years of Project Execution or Operations experience.
  • Established track record in leading projects through Mechanical Completion, Commissioning, and Start Up.
  • Advanced understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
  • Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and 3D design software.
  • Ability to read and understand system process definitions and P&IDs/SLDs.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and project teams.
  • Demonstrated management and organizational ability for diverse teams on large projects.
