About the position

GEM Technologies, Inc. (GEM) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This position is full-time and will serve the Nevada National Security Site in North Las Vegas, NV. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for preparing mechanical schematics and conceptual models, which are essential for the design and implementation of various mechanical systems. The role requires experience with building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and pneumatics, which are critical components in ensuring the functionality and efficiency of the facilities at the site. In this position, the Mechanical Engineer will prepare mechanical programming packages and schematic design packages, which will serve as the foundation for project execution. Additionally, the engineer will be tasked with preparing figures for reports and specifications, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and meets the required standards. Coordination is a key aspect of this role, as the engineer will need to work with multiple engineering disciplines, including the Authority Having Jurisdiction, system engineers, facility managers, project managers, and project engineers. Building strong relationships with these stakeholders is crucial for the success of the projects. The Mechanical Engineer will also develop technical requirements for infrastructure programs and projects, ensuring that all design deliverables comply with relevant laws, codes, orders, and MSTS policies and procedures. This position requires the ability to work effectively as both a team member and a leader, contributing to the overall success of tasks and projects within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare mechanical schematics and conceptual models.
  • Experience with building systems (HVAC, Plumbing, and Pneumatics).
  • Prepare mechanical programming packages.
  • Prepare mechanical schematic design packages.
  • Prepare figures for reports/specifications.
  • Coordinate building point clouds.
  • Coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines, Authority Having Jurisdiction, system engineers, facility managers, project managers, and project engineers.
  • Build teaming relationships with technical and other company organizations.
  • Develop technical requirements for infrastructure programs/projects.
  • Ensure design deliverables comply with laws, codes, orders, and MSTS policies and procedures.
  • Work effectively as a team member and leader to ensure task and project success.

Requirements

  • Experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on building systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and pneumatics.
