About the position

Responsibilities

  • Ensure on-time delivery of work and projects assigned with high-quality output.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and transformer factories across the US and Canada for assigned projects.
  • Visit factories based on project requirements.
  • Work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Collect project details and conduct multiple trials for standardization.
  • Coach and train entry-level engineers and interns.

Requirements

  • BE/B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 4 to 7 years of experience in the transformer industry, preferably in distribution transformers up to 69kV class.
  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical design and manufacturing processes of 3-phase and single-phase oil-filled distribution transformers.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D modeling tools like AutoCAD, Creo, SolidWorks, or Inventor.
  • Familiarity with IEEE/DOE standards.
  • 3D modeling and structural knowledge of pad-mounted transformers and wound core transformers, including optimization techniques and cost analysis.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of ANSYS for thermal and structural analysis is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the transformer industry specifically related to distribution transformers.
  • Familiarity with optimization techniques and cost analysis in mechanical design.
