About the position

The Mechanical Engineer will play a crucial role in collaborating with customers to identify their needs and requirements for new products or mechanical designs and systems. This position involves creating conceptual drawings of new equipment and innovations that will assist the sales team in effectively communicating product capabilities to clients. The engineer will be responsible for researching, designing, evaluating, and maintaining mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes to ensure they meet the specified requirements. This role requires a strong application of engineering principles to develop solutions that are both innovative and practical. In addition to customer interaction, the Mechanical Engineer will generate customized 3D models and assemblies using an established library of designs. They will also create 2D mechanical and electro-mechanical manufacturing drawings, layouts, sketches, and notes that are essential for the production process. A critical part of the job will involve checking completed layouts and drawings for proper fit and function, ensuring completeness, conformity to standards, and accuracy of calculations, dimensions, and tolerances. The engineer will specify system components and prepare bills of material (BOMs) or direct modifications of products to ensure they conform to engineering design and performance specifications. Furthermore, the Mechanical Engineer will oversee the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment at production facilities, ensuring that machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications. This position is essential for maintaining the quality and efficiency of mechanical systems within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Meet with customers, sales, project managers, other designers, or engineers to understand the needs and requirements for a new product or mechanical design or system.
• Research, design, evaluate, maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
• Generate customized 3D models and assemblies using an established library of designs.
• Generate 2D mechanical and electro-mechanical manufacturing drawings, layouts, sketches, and notes.
• Check completed layouts and drawings for proper fit and function, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications and accuracy of calculations, dimension and tolerances.
• Specify system components, prepare bills of material (BOM's) or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
• Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair at production facilities to ensure that machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering
• SolidWorks proficiency
• Prior experience within a Manufacturing environment
• Minimum of 1 year of professional experience
