About the position

SAIC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the US Navy in Crane, IN. The role involves conducting airborne lot testing and space applications, performing Big Data analysis for predictive analytics, and assisting in vibration testing. The engineer will also present findings and collaborate with other analysts to enhance analytic platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Support airborne lot testing and space applications, including programming files and vibration testing.
  • Perform Big Data analysis to obtain predictive analysis and identify indicators of known and emerging failure modes.
  • Predict end of life characteristics of lithium-ion aircraft and space cells/batteries.
  • Assist other analysts in using analytic platforms as needed.
  • Present findings, approaches, and processes to the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 or more years' experience; or a Master's degree with no experience.
  • Effective communication skills with all levels of personnel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Interim secret clearance required to start, with the ability to obtain a secret clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with LabView and MatLab, C++.
  • Prior experience supporting DoD and/or NSWC Crane.
  • Computer Science strengths for developing and maintaining data pipelines using Power BI, R, Python, SQL, etc.
  • Experience using GitHub and Microsoft DevOps for version control.
