About the position

The Mechanical Engineering Co-op/Intern position at Honda for Summer 2025 offers college students hands-on, project-based work relevant to their field of study. This role is designed to provide valuable experience in various departments, allowing interns to engage in meaningful projects rather than typical intern duties. Interns will have opportunities to participate in events, receive mentorship, and gain insights into the automotive industry while contributing to real-world engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in hands-on, project-based work relevant to the department of placement.
  • Participate in manufacturing activities related to equipment, process, quality, and new model activities.
  • Conduct vehicle testing and quality assurance tasks.
  • Assist in project management and problem analysis.
  • Investigate new technologies and implement countermeasures.
  • Update and document CAD drawings of existing infrastructure.
  • Design manufacturing equipment and tooling using CAD systems.
  • Support the development of vehicle testing and countermeasure analysis.
  • Attend meetings and collaborate with various design and manufacturing groups.

Requirements

  • Enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program studying Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher.
  • Class status: Sophomore (by credit hour) or above.
  • Availability to work a minimum of 10 weeks at 40 hours per week.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License and ability to provide own transportation.

  • AutoCAD proficiency
  • CATIA experience
  • Manufacturing related coursework
