About the position
This internship position is designed for individuals pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, providing hands-on experience in technical support and prototype development. The role emphasizes learning through practical application, including equipment testing, prototype building, and collaboration with engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Write and execute equipment testing documents for new mechanical systems.
- Create and fabricate test fixtures.
- Create engineering drawings under the supervision of a hardware engineer.
- Build prototypes and create bills of materials, working with production on assembly instructions.
- Demonstrate inclusion through actions and maintain a safe workspace.
- Embrace and incorporate Promega's Emotional & Social Intelligence core principles in daily work.
- Understand and comply with ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements applicable to the business.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of instruction towards a BS in Engineering.
- Eager to contribute and learn.
- Excellent organization, communication, and presentation skills.
- Driven individual with a track record of being a self-starter.
- Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities.
- Some CAD training, preferably in AutoCAD.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
