About the position

The Mechanical Engineering Co-Op position at Crane Aerospace & Electronics in Elyria, OH, offers students the opportunity to engage in routine engineering-related work while applying their educational knowledge in a practical setting. The role focuses on manufacturing processes and provides a platform for students to gain hands-on experience in various engineering disciplines, particularly in manufacturing and assembly engineering under the guidance of experienced professionals.

Responsibilities

• Assumes Manufacturing Engineering responsibilities under the guidance of a Manufacturing Engineer for assigned projects.
• Coordinates with representatives of Design Engineering, Supervisors, Quality, and Purchasing to plan and complete projects.
• Provides support for process development, tooling, systems and process improvements, cell design, and layout.
• Prepares, reviews, and/or approves process routings, sketches, tool sheets, NC programs, and general process revisions.
• Maintains and communicates an accurate accounting of project status.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Outlook).
• CAD Drafting/3-D Solid Modeling experience (Pro-E and/or AutoCAD preferred).
• NC Programming experience is a plus.
• Geometric Tolerancing (GD&T) experience is a plus.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
