About the position
The Mechanical Engineering Intern at Bernhard, LLC is designed for students currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering program. This role provides support to engineering teams and involves learning departmental processes, assisting with projects, and participating in various learning experiences. The intern will gain practical experience in the energy infrastructure industry while contributing to the company's innovative energy solutions.
Responsibilities
- Learn departmental organizational processes and procedures.
- Assist the departments and team with all aspects of the projects, estimating or business operations with a focus on the engineering and technical aspects of the role.
- Contribute to assigned projects.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of documentation or records.
- Attend departmental, project and jobsite meetings.
- Perform tasks appropriate to year level of internship under the direction of their supervisor or appropriate departmental staff.
- Participate in any learning experiences offered under the internship program such as orientations, lunch & learns, outings, jobsite tours, safety inspections, etc.
- Study meeting notes, policies and procedures to learn the way the company conducts business.
- Adhere to all safety processes, procedures and wear personal protective equipment as instructed by departmental staff.
- Attend the exit interview, providing feedback on the experience.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in an accredited university in the Mechanical Engineering major with a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior classification.
- Must have reliable transportation to work daily.
- Must have a great attitude towards work and others.
- Must be able to take initiative, provide quality work with a sense of urgency and reasonable productivity.
- Must be able to work independently to complete tasks with daily supervision.
