About the position

The Mechanical Engineering Intern at Bernhard provides support to engineering teams in various organizational functions related to their area of study. This role is designed for students enrolled in an engineering program, allowing them to gain practical experience while contributing to projects and learning departmental processes.

Responsibilities

• Learn departmental organizational processes and procedures.
• Assist the departments and team with all aspects of the projects, estimating or business operations with a focus on the engineering and technical aspects of the role.
• Contribute to assigned projects.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of documentation or records.
• Attend departmental, project, and jobsite meetings.
• Perform tasks appropriate to year level of internship under the direction of their supervisor or appropriate departmental staff.
• Participate in any learning experiences offered under the internship program such as orientations, lunch & learns, outings, jobsite tours, safety inspections, etc.
• Study meeting notes, policies, and procedures to learn the way the company conducts business.
• Adhere to all safety processes, procedures and wear personal protective equipment as instructed by departmental staff.
• Attend the exit interview, providing feedback on the experience.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in an accredited university in Engineering major with a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior classification.
• Must have reliable transportation to work daily.
• Must have a great attitude towards work and others.
• Must be able to take initiative, provide quality work with a sense of urgency and reasonable productivity.
• Must be able to work independently to complete tasks with daily supervision.
