About the position

As a Facilities Mechanical Engineering Lead / Group Manager at Jacobs in Boise, ID, you will oversee projects that are crucial to the manufacturing sector. This role involves collaborating with clients to establish design requirements and producing construction documents for complex mechanical systems in industrial facilities. You will be responsible for both technical engineering and managerial tasks, including staff development and project oversight, ensuring the successful integration of mechanical systems into manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage engineering design teams for mechanical facilities projects.
  • Establish design requirements and produce construction documents for mechanical systems.
  • Oversee the design and installation of piping and ducting for heating, cooling, and exhaust systems.
  • Conduct engineering calculations and equipment sizing for mechanical systems.
  • Manage staff hiring, development, and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with multi-discipline design teams and client equipment owners.
  • Provide technical training and quality checks on designs.
  • Assist with construction oversight and integration of systems on-site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET Accredited University.
  • At least 12 years of practical application of mechanical facilities engineering.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience leading engineering design teams.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Idaho or ability to obtain within 3 months.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least 5 years of experience with complex semiconductor manufacturing tools.
  • Proficient knowledge of AutoCAD and Navisworks software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and broaden knowledge base.
  • At least 2 years of field experience.
