About the position

The Mechanical Field Tech Training at TXRX Labs is a temporary, hands-on training program designed to equip individuals with essential skills for careers in the oil and gas and related manufacturing industries. The program focuses on job-ready skills such as blueprint reading, non-destructive testing, and welding, providing participants with unique technical skills that open up new professional opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a 2-day hands-on skill refinement training program.
• Learn about careers in oil and gas and related manufacturing industries.
• Gain skills in blueprint reading, mechanical assembly, and electrical assembly.
• Understand non-destructive testing methods and their applications.
• Learn oil and gas line location techniques and basic welding.
• Practice welding inspection techniques and quality control reporting.

Requirements

• Basic math skills
• Ability to read and understand English
• Experience in MIG welding (1 year required)
• Familiarity with electrical systems
• Experience in industrial maintenance (1 year)
• Experience in manufacturing (4 years)
• Ability to read blueprints
• Knowledge of non-destructive testing methods (NDT)
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in mechanical assembly
• Knowledge of metrology
• Familiarity with quality control documentation.
