About the position

This position exists to provide engineering expertise to optimize the utilization of physical assets and technology resources to manufacture the highest quality products in the most efficient and effective manner, reduce costs, and increase operating profit. The maintenance engineer increases productivity, and reliability, and lowers costs. This is accomplished by analyzing high cost and failure assets and working with operations and maintenance to develop improvements in procedures or design improvements. This person will also sustain a safe and healthful working environment that meets environmental, health, and safety regulations and Company requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Study the processes and look for areas of improvement that will help the unit achieve Best Industry Practice and correct problem areas.
  • Follow up with projects on a routine basis utilizing best practices, benchmarking, planning, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide maintenance support by communicating and working with operations to establish equipment criticality and provide standby equipment for critical equipment.
  • Apply data analysis techniques to develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and other problems that adversely affect plant operations including safety, environmental, capacity, quality, cost, and regulatory compliance issues.
  • Carry out unplanned corrective maintenance by assisting in identifying the cause of failure using strong analytical, troubleshooting skills and diagnostic tools.
  • Assist with elements of process safety and projects such as MOCs, PSI updates, and P&ID modifications.
  • Coach and lead individual team members for continued development.
  • Promote cleanliness and order through the implementation of the Total Housekeeping Maintenance program.

Requirements

  • 1 ~ 3 years of experience in project and equipment management is preferred.
  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required; other related engineering disciplines are considered.
  • Computer skills, including but not limited to MS Office, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Academic background: Heat Transfer, Kinetics, Thermodynamics, Fluid Statics and Dynamics, Engineering Economics.
  • Knowledge of corporate 'workflow' system, department responsibilities, and maintenance procedures preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Project management and equipment knowledge experience is a plus.
