About the position

The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer at Genesis Alkali is responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of mechanical systems within the plant. This role involves supporting daily maintenance activities, optimizing maintenance programs, and providing engineering support for capital projects. The engineer will also engage in safety leadership, root cause analysis for equipment failures, and maintain technical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates safety leadership and understanding of safety regulations.
  • Support daily mechanical maintenance activities and problem solving.
  • Maintain plant technical data, drawings, and documentation.
  • Review and maintain equipment spare parts inventory and stocking strategies.
  • Provide recommendations and identify best practices to optimize the predictive/preventive maintenance program.
  • Identify, support, and execute plant improvement projects.
  • Perform root cause failure analysis for unplanned equipment failures and generate action items to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Originate, perform, and support Management of Change (MOC) requests.
  • Provide mechanical engineering support for capital project implementations and modifications to facilities.
  • Maintain and advise on mechanical conveyance, kilns/calciners, pumping systems, and other mineral processing equipment.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent B.S. degree.
  • 3+ years maintenance or plant engineering experience strongly preferred.
  • Industrial background, equipment troubleshooting, and reliability experience preferred.
