About the position

The Mechanical Maintenance Planner at Indorama Ventures- Indovinya is responsible for planning all labor, material, and service resources for preventative and regular mechanical maintenance work. This role involves balancing work requirements with resource constraints to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks, thereby supporting the operational efficiency of the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Plan all maintenance mechanical work orders in SAP by analyzing job steps and identifying requirements.
  • Review engineering drawings and sketches necessary for work order planning.
  • Screen work order requests for completion and discuss details with originating areas.
  • Develop estimates for craft hours, labor, and material costs for each work order.
  • Use work order prioritization plans from the Operations Maintenance Coordinator.
  • Review work areas for potential safety hazards and include safety procedures in job plans.
  • Create lists of materials required for work and develop material staging plans.
  • Identify needs for support work orders such as confined space entry and heavy equipment.
  • Prepare comprehensive work packages including drawings, permits, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain a planned maintenance backlog for assigned work crews and communicate status to Site Leadership.
  • Meet with Operations Maintenance Coordinator to establish work order priorities.
  • Develop and archive job plans and maintain a job plan library.
  • Adjust job plan library information based on audits and feedback.
  • Participate in maintenance prioritization, planning, and scheduling meetings.
  • Maintain accuracy of equipment bill of material database in SAP.
  • Meet with Reliability Engineer to analyze work orders for equipment failure trends.
  • Recommend stocking of spare parts and eliminate unnecessary inventory.
  • Support the maintenance budgeting process.
  • Attend safety meetings and complete required training programs.
  • Prepare maintenance plans for major plant mechanical equipment including shutdowns.
  • Scope bids and coordinate with procurement for mechanical contractor work.
  • Accountable for the quality of mechanical work orders planning backlog.
  • Drive improvements to standardize best practices in planning.
  • Review work orders for accuracy before assignment to RTS.
  • Assist team members and participate in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent OR a minimum of 5 years of experience as a mechanical maintenance technician/specialist and at least 3 years of Preventive Maintenance Planning in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and estimate work.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to work independently and influence others.
  • High proficiency in SAP and Prometheus for work order planning and management.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, bill of materials, and detailed drawings.
