About the position

Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS) is seeking an Engineer to join their team in Dover, New Jersey. This role supports the Analysis, Materials, & Prototyping (AMPD) Directorate's mission by contributing to the development of advanced materials and technologies for armament systems. The position is available for entry-level to mid-career candidates across various engineering disciplines, including Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, and Robotics Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis and experimental evaluation of munition and armament systems.
  • Perform dynamic finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Design mechanical systems for experimental and prototype applications.
  • Utilize computational fluid dynamics (CFD) in projects.
  • Test and evaluate munition and armament systems.
  • Conduct computer vision analysis and digital image correlation.
  • Engage in advanced manufacturing processes, including 3-D printing.
  • Analyze materials and assess producibility and industrial base.
  • Implement robotic programming and integration for manufacturing.
  • Perform welding, joining, and tool & die operations.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain a clearance through the DoD security background investigation process.
  • Pass drug and alcohol testing.
  • Good mechanical skills and experience required.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing principles and processes.
  • Experience with engineering software, including Creo CAD.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • High standard of quality and efficiency.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of weapons and firearms is a plus.
  • Must be a team player, able to multitask and prioritize accordingly.
  • Fluent in MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to obtain a government driver's license.
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering or a similar discipline.
  • 0-5 years of experience in engineering or a similar discipline.
