About the position

WNA Engineering is seeking a Mechanical & Plumbing Designer to join their design team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing HVAC and plumbing systems for various building construction projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. This role involves collaboration with project leadership and other engineering teams to deliver sustainable and energy-efficient solutions for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design of various mechanical systems for building construction projects under the supervision of Project Leadership
  • Develop accurate designs/drawings that comply with all applicable codes and company drafting standards, practices, and procedures
  • Assist in the heating/cooling load calculations and building energy modeling
  • Prepare technical reports, edit specifications, and undertake technical investigation studies
  • Coordinate internally with the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering design teams
  • Participate in the QA/QC process, project time budgeting, milestone design review and inter-discipline cross-checking
  • Coordinate with Code Officials and provide code summaries for projects
  • Coordinate time and schedule to work on multiple projects concurrently
  • Participate in all scheduled team communication, meetings, and trainings

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an ABET Accredited College in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred)
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience designing mechanical systems including HVAC air, plumbing and water systems
  • Relevant Work Experience in AutoCAD and Revit 2018 or newer
  • Knowledge in MEP building/energy codes, and working with Utility Companies and Local Municipalities
  • High level of Personal Integrity, Professionalism and Honesty
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and desire to collaborate and take on challenges
