About the position

As a Mechanical Process Engineer at Ramboll, you will be part of our Water division, which is dedicated to addressing challenges related to water, climate, and sustainability. Our team works closely with municipalities, utilities, and industrial clients to provide a comprehensive range of water-related consulting services. This includes everything from early-phase strategic analysis and project scoping to the design and implementation of infrastructure solutions. In this role, you will leverage your engineering expertise to develop detailed process mechanical designs specifically for wastewater treatment systems. You will be responsible for creating functional and constructable contract drawings using advanced modeling tools such as AutoCAD Plant 3D or Revit MEP. Your work will involve developing Piping and Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs) and Process Flow Diagrams, ensuring that all designs meet project specifications and requirements. You will also collaborate with experienced managers and colleagues, receiving support as you grow in your role and take on increasing responsibilities. Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed process mechanical designs for wastewater treatment systems.
  • Create functional and constructable contract drawings using AutoCAD Plant 3D or Revit MEP.
  • Develop Piping and Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs) and Process Flow Diagrams from concept ideas.
  • Modify technical specifications for project requirements and develop equipment data sheets.
  • Utilize hydraulic modeling software for project analysis and design.
  • Collaborate with project teams to resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Travel to project sites as required for project oversight and commissioning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in wastewater treatment engineering design; or an Associate's Degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the same field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Experience in developing process mechanical designs using AutoCAD Plant 3D or Revit MEP.
  • Ability to create P&IDs and Process Flow Diagrams in AutoCAD 2D.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Fluency in additional modeling software platforms and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Experience with hydraulic modeling software (PIPE-FLO, DESIGNET, etc.).
  • Experience with commissioning and long-term operation of wastewater treatment plants.
  • Experience in design development during turn-key project delivery.
