About the position

Amphenol High Speed Products Group is seeking a Process Engineer to join our HSIO Connector Engineering team located in Valley Green, PA. This position is crucial in managing all technical and process control aspects of assembly processes, ensuring that they meet Amphenol's cost, delivery, and capacity needs while adhering to customer requirements. The Process Engineer will develop plans, coordinate, track, qualify, and implement assembly processes from conceptual design into functional assemblies. This role involves the development of automated processes and continuous improvement in quality, safety, cost, and efficiency through the application of Lean tools such as SMED and TPM. The Process Engineer will also assist with costing, capital, and capacity projections, preparing financial justifications for new product developments and product changes. Key deliverables include completing PFMEAs, Process Qualification Plans, Control Plans, Workmanship standards, and Design of Experiments (DOE) related to process development. The role requires the development of tools and fixtures for cable assembly processes using 3D CAD software, preferably Solidworks or Pro-Engineer, and defining process equipment and tools for new assembly processes or improvements. In addition, the Process Engineer will be responsible for writing and developing machine/tooling specifications for processes and equipment to be purchased from external sources. The position also involves driving process risk reduction efforts using Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and conducting analyses of defined risk areas, including experimentation and detailed design. The Process Engineer will document assembly processes, provide training and support to production personnel, and participate in team meetings to report on project progress and customer-driven deliverables. Coordination with internal and external vendors for the fabrication of prototype samples, tooling, and equipment is also a key aspect of this role. Some travel, both domestically and internationally, may be required.
