We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Engineer with a strong background in manufacturing. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the engineering and production departments, ensuring the optimization and efficiency of our manufacturing processes, particularly in the area of tablet production.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the production team, providing direction, mentorship, and support.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the production department.
  • Develop and implement strategic goals and objectives for the engineering department in alignment with overall company objectives.
  • Oversee the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes with a focus on tableting technology.
  • Ensure the efficient and cost-effective production of high-quality products.
  • Implement best practices and industry standards to enhance productivity and product quality.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in tableting technology, including formulation, granulation, compression, and coating.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to tablet production processes and equipment.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in tableting technology and implement innovative solutions to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Lead and manage engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, quality assurance, and production, to ensure successful project execution.
  • Prepare and present project status reports to senior management.
  • Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to implement and maintain quality control systems and procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the manufacturing operations.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and other continuous improvement methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address production issues.
  • Oversee the selection, installation, maintenance, and validation of manufacturing equipment and facilities.
  • Ensure equipment and facilities are properly maintained and meet safety and operational standards.
  • Manage relationships with equipment vendors and service providers.
  • Develop and manage the engineering department budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Monitor and control expenses to achieve financial objectives.
  • Plan and allocate resources for engineering projects and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or related field). A Master's degree is preferred but not required!
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing engineering teams and projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in using engineering software and tools.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in tableting technology is a plus but not required.
