About The Position

Because of increasing demand for mechanical and energy engineering expertise, we are seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join our Elmhurst, IL office. As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for providing operational and technical guidance for our design resources in all areas of work we do associated with Mechanical engineering. Assist the Mechanical Discipline Managers within a Business Unit/Office by providing them operational and technical guidance to help meet the client's desires and budget. Work with a team of engineers on a variety of private, public, and federal projects. In addition to working with Mechanical engineers, this individual will team with electrical, plumbing/fire protection, civil, structural, and other disciplines to provide full-range services to our local, regional and national clients. In short, provide operational and technical guidance associated with Mechanical requirements to accomplish our commitments. Reports to the Mechanical Discipline Manager.

Requirements

• Accomplished professional engineer (PE). Existing licensure in IL is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience.
• Experience should include technical oversight of multiple projects with proven success providing technical oversight on projects that meet contract specifications and technical standards to the client on time and within budget.
• Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
• Well organized, takes good notes.

Responsibilities

• Technical guidance and quality oversight, including code review, of all project work involving Mechanical engineering.
• Technical training and development of staff.
• Assist in establishing and improving standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications for mechanical discipline area.
• Engineer of Record.
• Provide 'on-the-spot' advice and decisions - technical and cost estimates.
• Coordination with all the disciplines involved, including outside consultants.
• Technical interface with code officials and contractors.
