About the position

The Mechanical Project Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing cost-effective automated manufacturing processes in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. This role requires a high energy level, a strong sense of curiosity, and hands-on mechanical experience to effectively solve manufacturing challenges.

Responsibilities

• Performs research, design, and development of manufacturing processes and product designs.
• Evaluates business cases for new manufacturing processes and presents recommendations to upper management.
• Creates new designs to solve difficult manufacturing problems.
• Designs or sources production equipment, robotic systems, and automation equipment.
• Prepares detailed CAD models and drawings to facilitate fabrication.

Requirements

• 5 years of progressive manufacturing/mechanical engineering experience in a manufactured products environment.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience designing machines and machine components including shafts, bearings, motors, frames, and fixturing.
• Prior experience with manufacturing equipment in forging, stamping, casting, welding, machining, and assembly.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; team orientation.
