About the position

Actalent is seeking a Controls Engineer with 1-10 years of experience in developing, designing, installing, and supporting industrial control systems, HMIs, and PLCs. The role involves project management, customer interaction, and the potential for independent work or teamwork on projects. The engineer will also provide training and maintain customer relations.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, installs, and supports industrial control systems and Human Machine Interface (HMI) applications.
• Provides project management services on directly assigned projects.
• Interfaces with customers during the design and implementation of control systems.
• Assists in the development of quotations and functional specifications.
• May be required to work independently or as a member of a project team.
• May provide training in control systems concepts, practices, and procedures to other control engineers.
• Develops and maintains good customer relations.

Requirements

• Requires a Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or technical discipline or an Associate's Degree in an engineering or technical discipline.
• Experience with control system design and implementation concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Experience with programmable controllers, motor/motor controllers, electronic sensors, and instrumentation.
• Experience reading P&ID (process and instrumentation diagram) drawings and electrical schematics.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Human Machine Interface (HMI) software, Microsoft Office applications, and AutoCAD.
• Ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of industrial safety standards, regulations, and practices.
• Experience with servo controls.
• Automation, validation, and GMP experience in the pharmaceutical/medical devices industry.
