About the position

The Mechanical Project Engineer at Actalent is responsible for designing material handling equipment, including conveyor belts and other machinery, tailored to specific facility requirements. This role involves enhancing site capacity, retrofitting areas for new equipment, and optimizing existing layouts. The engineer will develop project scopes, write RFPs, collaborate with vendors for site selection, and oversee the engineering design process leading to execution. The position requires up to 50% travel for site visits.

Responsibilities

• Design material handling equipment such as conveyor belts and machinery based on facility requirements.
• Enhance site capacity and retrofit areas for new equipment.
• Rearrange existing equipment within the facility to optimize layout.
• Develop project scopes and layouts for the site.
• Write RFPs and collaborate with vendors for site selection.
• Oversee engineering design and handoff to execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, industrial, electrical, manufacturing).
• Experience in mechanical design of warehouse/plant layout/material handling.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Solidworks.
• Experience working with vendors, including creating RFPs and RDQs.
