About the position

The Mechanical Project Manager will provide overall leadership, management, and direction for mechanical projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule and within budget. This role involves planning, scheduling, and organizing all aspects of projects while maintaining effective communication with clients and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule and organize all aspects of projects through Department Heads and General Superintendent.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within corporate policy boundaries.
  • Initiate and maintain liaison with client and A/E contacts to facilitate construction activities.
  • Monitor and control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget.
  • Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
  • Represent the company in project meetings and assist in labor issues and concerns.
  • Manage financial aspects of projects including billings, receivables, and budgets.
  • Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
  • Ensure all working documents and data are maintained to back-up estimate figures.

Requirements

  • 5-6 years of experience in project management.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, and standards.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Significant business skills required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with large job projects (5+ million).
  • Ability to delegate project tasks based on team members' strengths and skill sets.
  • Experience in financial analysis.
