About the position

The Mechanical Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing mechanical projects from inception to completion within a respected mechanical contracting company in Kansas City. This role involves planning, organizing, and coordinating activities related to mechanical design, construction, installation, and commissioning, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Developing project plans, timelines, and budgets in accordance with customer requirements and company standards.
• Coordinating the allocation of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to ensure that project deadlines are met.
• Identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with the project, such as safety hazards, cost overruns, and delays.
• Communicating project progress and status to stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and team members.
• Ensuring that all work performed meets quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintaining accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and project reports.
• Leading and motivating a team of engineers, designers, and technicians to achieve project goals and objectives.
• Identifying and resolving issues and conflicts that arise during the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Proven experience in mechanical project management, particularly in industrial piping, plumbing, HVAC, and sheet metal.
• Strong planning and organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively convey project status to stakeholders.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team of professionals.
• Strong problem-solving skills to address issues that arise during project execution.
