About the position

The Mechanical Project Manager will oversee the mechanical aspects of construction projects specifically for data centers. This role combines technical expertise with project management skills, requiring collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets for mechanical systems in data center construction, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to review and approve mechanical designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
  • Lead and coordinate project teams, including engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure all mechanical installations meet specifications and safety standards.
  • Identify potential project risks related to mechanical systems and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, issues, and changes.
  • Monitor project expenditures, ensuring adherence to budget constraints and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure all mechanical work complies with local codes and regulations, and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in mechanical project management, preferably in data center construction.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems design, installation, and maintenance.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
  • Professional certification (e.g., PMP, CCM) is a plus.
