About the position

As a Mechanical Project Manager at Microsoft, you will oversee the mechanical process delivery for data center projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget while adhering to high-quality standards. This role involves collaboration with various teams to align project objectives and manage vendor relationships, contributing to the overall success of Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the mechanical process delivery for the site location.
• Deliver the program safely, on schedule, on or under budget with a high level of quality.
• Ensure the mechanical portion of the project meets Microsoft guidelines and standards.
• Coordinate with the Data Center Engineering (DCE) team and support specialty consultants to provide feedback based on design.
• Align team objectives, business processes, General Contractor (GC) and vendor management strategies, and cross-group collaboration efforts with the Design Cost Data (DCD) project strategy.
• Advocate for managing a safe site and ensure compliance with safety, labor, and zoning regulations.
• Monitor the status of the project's mechanical side to ensure it stays on schedule and on budget.
• Handle administrative duties such as budgeting and managing agreements with subcontractors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development.
• 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
• Strong background in data center design, engineering, controls, and operational requirements.
• Effective interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development.
• 6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
• 1+ year(s) experience reading and/or writing code.
