About the position

The Mechanical Quality Inspector is responsible for the First Article Inspection and ensures product conformity to established requirements by evaluating products against customer and Engineering drawings, specifications, and other related documents. This role coordinates the receiving, in-process, and final product inspections, documenting results in various reports and logs within the Quality System Network.

Responsibilities

• Conduct First Article Inspections to ensure product conformity.
• Evaluate products against customer and Engineering drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate receiving, in-process, and final product inspections.
• Document inspection results in reports and logs in the Quality System Network.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following guidelines and procedures.
• Assist Engineering and Manufacturing in investigating non-conformities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Fundamental mechanical and mathematical inspection knowledge.
• Familiarity with inspection hand gauging including micrometers, thread gauges, dial indicators, calipers, and height gauges.
• Robust knowledge of GD&T, blueprint, and specification interpretation.
• Experience with inspection equipment such as Mics, Calipers, Opticals, and Micro heights.
• Extensive knowledge of software and database testing including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored jobs, and error replication.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to create test plans and cases from specifications or verbal communications.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with developers, project managers, and customer support.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Nice-to-haves

• Aerospace experience or AS9100 certification.
• Lean Manufacturing experience.
