About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Quality Technician to join our team in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and ensuring that mechanical components meet our quality standards. You will utilize precision tools to perform tests and collaborate closely with engineers to enhance product reliability. The position offers a pay range of $23 to $25 per hour, depending on experience, and is structured as a temp-to-perm opportunity. The work hours are from 7 AM to 3 PM on the first shift, and no formal education degree is required for this position. As a Mechanical Quality Technician, your primary responsibilities will include performing inspections on mechanical components and products to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards. You will use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to measure dimensions and tolerances accurately. Additionally, you will conduct tests to evaluate product performance, durability, and safety, ensuring that all products meet the required quality benchmarks. Documentation is a critical aspect of this role. You will be responsible for recording and documenting inspection results, including measurements, test results, and any detected defects or issues. Maintaining detailed records of all quality control activities is essential, as is preparing quality reports for management and engineering teams. Troubleshooting and defect analysis will also be part of your duties. You will identify and analyze defects in products, working collaboratively with engineers or production teams to address and resolve issues. Your recommendations for corrective actions will be vital in improving product quality. Quality assurance is another key responsibility. You will ensure compliance with internal quality assurance protocols and external standards, such as ISO or other industry-specific regulations. Assisting in the development and implementation of quality control processes and procedures will also be part of your role. Collaboration is essential in this position. You will work closely with engineers, production teams, and management to address quality issues and improve processes. Your input on product design improvements from a quality perspective will be highly valued. Finally, you will be responsible for the calibration and maintenance of all testing and inspection equipment, ensuring that it is properly calibrated and maintained. Scheduling and performing equipment maintenance as necessary will also fall under your purview.

Requirements
