About the position

The candidate should have knowledge or expertise in the inspection and testing, as well as the development and application of engineering specifications and standards for fixed equipment and rotating equipment. Similar experience for electrical equipment, instrumentation and controls would be advantageous. Experience solving design and operational issues of a mechanical nature (pipe stress, metallurgy, etc) is also beneficial. This individual will be responsible for leading the corporate Mechanical Integrity group, and driving MRMC to consistency and excellence in their Mechanical Integrity and Reliability programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an integrated corporate mechanical integrity and reliability program for fixed, rotating, and electrical equipment, and instrumentation and controls at Martin facilities.
  • Examine equipment as required to support quality assurance of new equipment (fabrication, installation), management of repairs, and/or evaluation of in-service equipment.
  • Manage MRMC's MI inspection program, working with inspection contractors to maintain regulatory and industry compliance for fixed equipment inspection requirements.
  • Lead the development of reliability capabilities at the facility and business unit level.
  • Provide technical expertise on mechanical engineering and MI/Reliability issues and data analysis to facility maintenance, engineering, and operations personnel.
  • Development and application of internal technical standards, specifications, and policies that govern the design, fabrication, construction, inspection, and testing of fixed and rotating equipment.
  • Assist facilities in proactively identifying opportunities to reduce cost and improve production by reducing equipment downtime and improving reliability.
  • Development and review of inspection and test plans for plant equipment.
  • Establish company practices for predictive and preventative maintenance.
  • Leading and participating in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and incident investigations related to equipment failures.
  • Instill and foster a proactive EHS-conscious culture and drive operational ownership of Martin's Environment, Health & Safety programs through all levels of the organization.
  • Develop and maintain a metrics program to measure the performance of the company's predictive/preventative maintenance and inspection efforts.
  • Develop and maintain all necessary documentation related to the mechanical integrity and reliability of fixed and rotating equipment.

Requirements

  • A Bachelors' degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • 3-7 years in an industrial maintenance and reliability setting or in a design/process engineering setting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience solving design and operational issues of a mechanical nature (pipe stress, metallurgy, etc).
  • Similar experience for electrical equipment, instrumentation and controls.
