About the position

The Mechanical Superintendent - Solar position at Black & Veatch involves overseeing construction activities on a solar project in Petersburg, IN. The role requires strong leadership in ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards while managing direct hire supervision and subcontractors. The superintendent will be responsible for coordinating technical requirements, monitoring productivity, and maintaining effective communication among all project stakeholders. This position is crucial for ensuring that project expectations are met and that the workforce adheres to established guidelines and schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Construction Manager in ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and performance standards.
  • Monitor and report on construction activities for compliance with the CPM schedule.
  • Assist craft/subcontractors in resolving issues related to drawings, schedule, quality, and safety.
  • Monitor discipline construction productivity and report to the Construction Manager.
  • Develop and monitor a 3 Week Look Ahead Schedule for assigned work scope.
  • Conduct foreman/subcontractor meetings for planning purposes.
  • Maintain a daily log for site records and review timesheets and progress reports.
  • Develop Job Hazard Analysis for major erection packages.
  • Support commercial recovery processes and assist in preparing extra work authorization requests.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Construction Manager on equivalent projects.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
