About the position

The Lead Engineer for Mechanical Systems Aeroderivative development at GE Vernova is responsible for leading the mechanical system design and integration of the Aeroderivative Gas Turbine Package Product Line. This role involves executing designs for new product introductions, ensuring reliability and maintainability, and supporting customer requirements through innovative engineering solutions. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality projects that meet customer satisfaction and business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the mechanical system design and integration of the Aeroderivative Gas Turbine Package Product Line.
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards.
  • Contribute to reduce cost of quality exposure and improve quality processes.
  • Select and evaluate best fit configurations per customer requirements.
  • Provide valuable assessments for customers and recognize opportunities to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Develop design schedules for projects/programs with milestones and work task assignments.
  • Manage multiple programs simultaneously.
  • Support and present technical data and new technologies to stakeholders and customers.
  • Document and communicate results of technical data generated.
  • Read and interpret schematics of Flow and Instrument diagrams.
  • Create mechanical technical drawings and installation manuals.
  • Interpret structural analysis and applicable national & international codes/standards.
  • Prepare invention disclosures to protect competitive technology.
  • Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for assigned projects.
  • Drive extended teams to ensure project deliverables are completed successfully.
  • Collaborate with key functional teams to execute on projects/programs.
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues to Engineering Managers and Product Line Leaders.
  • Negotiate budgets, manage timelines, and guide cross-functional teams.
  • Provide cost-effective solutions for business and customer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Engineering Technology from an accredited college and university.
  • Advanced experience in Engineering/Technology & Mechanical Component.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Unigraphics.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Legal right to work in the hiring location.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Advanced experience in mechanical or process engineering in the power industry.
  • Sound knowledge of codes and standards, including safety standards.
  • Previous experience designing or installing GE Gas Power products.
  • Familiarity with the design and specification of complete power plants.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes.
  • Good understanding of gas turbine packages and power plants.
  • Green Belt certified or equivalent Quality certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
