About The Position
This position will be responsible for assuring that all production equipment is maintained. Responsibilities include but are not limited to troubleshooting systems, processes and/or equipment, reading, working with, and modifying mechanical prints, working with industrial mechanics and/or welding including: gear boxes, alignments, hydraulic and pneumatic logic, pump repair and process knowledge, adhering to safe mechanical and rigging processes, and using computerized maintenance management program/system to complete work orders, find and order parts, and to schedule maintenance work for their shift. We are looking for candidates willing to work rotating shifts, including days and nights. Most maintenance positions in our steel plant require moderate to heavy lifting and can be physically demanding including working in extreme temperatures and at elevated heights. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
