About the position

The Mechanical Technician at Pittsburgh Embossing Services is responsible for repairing, rebuilding, and refurbishing specialized printing equipment, primarily for the plastic card industry. This role involves working both in-house and on-site at customer locations, providing technical support and ensuring equipment is ready for shipping. The position offers a relaxed work environment and emphasizes professional communication and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Repair, rebuild and refurbish specialized printing equipment.
• Clean, inspect and prep equipment prior to shipping.
• Provide phone support for equipment issues.
• Support the in-house service bureau.

Requirements

• Must have mechanical and technical experience.
• Must have a positive attitude and communicate on a professional level.
• Ability to function with limited supervision.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle up to 26' in length and possess a current driver's license.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Willingness to travel and stay overnight occasionally.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Datacard brand equipment.
• Knowledge of networking and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with electronics repair and software programming.
