About the position

The DDS Regional Crew position is part of the Open Cut Maintenance team at Peabody's NARM mine, the largest surface coal mine in the US. This role focuses on heavy maintenance of shovels and draglines during planned outages, rather than day-to-day maintenance. The crew will utilize expertise from various Peabody locations in the Powder River Basin, emphasizing a safety-first culture with a goal of zero recordable MSHA injuries/incidents.

Responsibilities

• Visibly support and champion Peabody's Mission and Values.
• Act in accordance with and adhere to Safety as a Way of Life Management System.
• Conduct safety observations and complete safety interactions monthly.
• Perform shovel repairs, job scopes, and planning for large outages.
• Travel to mine sites with the needed tooling as scheduled by the Team Lead.
• Promote safe behavior in others and work safely.
• Complete other duties as assigned by the company.

Requirements

• Minimum of three (3) years of mining related or industrial experience working on large rope shovels and draglines.
• Ability to obtain pit driving license at all 3 locations.
• Experience with shovel repairs, job scopes, and planning.
• Good communication skills with mine personnel, both verbal and written.
• Experience with large outages and ability to meet deadlines.
• Good hazard recognition and ability to follow isolation procedures for all equipment on all sites.
• Become confined space certified and pass a 1 in weld test or equivalent certification.
• Machining experience is a plus.
• Ability to solve problems that may arise in pit conditions and identify defects in equipment.
• Knowledge of mine production and ability to operate equipment in various weather conditions.
