About the position

KLA is seeking Mechatronics Engineers to join their technology team, focusing on the design and development of complex semiconductor equipment. This role is part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for creating metrology products essential for the semiconductor industry. The position emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and hands-on work in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities for future openings in Mechatronics Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Design prototypes and deploy mechatronics for semiconductor equipment.
  • Perform first principal analysis for sizing components.
  • Release complete documentation packages and collaborate with the new product group.
  • Assist program managers with program schedules and evaluate skills requirements and material costs.
  • Provide periodic updates to management on project status.
  • Participate in establishing a roadmap for next-generation electro-mechanical systems.
  • Work independently on data collection, analysis, calibration, and scripting using Python or Matlab.
  • Define plans for system integration, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Engage in hands-on work with hardware in lab or cleanroom environments.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. with 1+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of experience in semiconductor product development or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of feedback control system design, system identification, and signal processing.
  • Experience with experimental design and hardware-in-the-loop experimentation.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of precision machine design.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of numerical optimization and image processing.
  • Willingness to take on responsibility and ability to quickly adapt to new documentation and training.
