About the position

MDpanel is seeking a Med Legal Assistant to support the administrative operations of the California Med-Legal Department. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth functioning of the department by managing various administrative tasks and facilitating communication between clients, physicians, and internal departments. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently. This position is remote, but candidates must reside in Michigan or Ohio and be available to work during Pacific Standard Time (PST) hours. The working hours are from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM PST. As a Med Legal Assistant, you will be responsible for scheduling appointments and maintaining calendars for evaluations and meetings. You will coordinate evaluations with clients, physicians, and other relevant parties, ensuring that all details are communicated effectively. Additionally, you will organize and maintain medical and legal records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Serving as a liaison between departments, clients, and physicians, you will provide timely updates and handle urgent matters as they arise. You will also be responsible for uploading necessary documents to the appropriate systems and ensuring they are easily accessible, as well as arranging travel accommodations for clients and physicians when needed. Managing incoming and outgoing emails will also be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that all communications are handled promptly and professionally. The position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, with a preference for candidates holding a Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Legal Studies, Healthcare Administration, or Business. Familiarity with medical legal terminology and processes is a plus, as is proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, along with excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Attention to detail and accuracy is paramount in this role, as you will be handling sensitive information and coordinating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Must be located in Michigan or Ohio, with the ability to travel to an office location occasionally.
  • Ability to work remotely while adhering to Pacific Standard Time (PST) hours.
  • Proven experience as a legal assistant, or in a similar role.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Familiarity with medical legal terminology and processes is a plus.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
